Leadership: Web
While writing is my primary passion, there is a special place in my creative heart for leadership. At T-Mobile and Zulily, I was privileged to manage both people and projects, providing mentorship to individuals and creative direction to initiatives. Guiding writers and designers toward a finished project through concept development, constructive feedback, and project management is a thrill. And I’ll always join my team in the creative trenches to help with the work if it’s called for!
Sunsetting TVision
In March 2021, T-Mobile decided to sunset TVision’s streaming services. Under a tight 4-week timeline, I led a small team through a confidential effort to create digital assets to notify current customers and promote two new streaming options. In addition to presenting this work up to our CMO, I handled creative review sessions with YouTube and Philo, working directly with their creative teams. Below are examples of the work for YouTube TV.
Magenta® MAX
This project had me “pinch-hitting” as a creative lead for a neighboring team whose leads were all oversubscribed. It’s also a great example of creative teams working together to pull off a huge ask within a tight timeline. Launch a brand new wireless plan within two weeks? And link it to a new switcher offer going live at the same time? It was tough, but we did it!
OnePlus 7T 5G Pro McLaren
I oversaw smartphone launches for several top brands, but OnePlus was a highlight. Particularly challenging for copywriters, these projects required product descriptions that would engage both tech enthusiasts and the average smartphone owner. Through careful research and collaboration with our product team, my writers were able to hit the sweet spot.
T-Mobile FamilyMode
FamilyMode is evidence of what happens when creative teams, product teams, and app developers work together. I led our copywriter to prioritize time with neighboring teams to define key customer benefits and features. The result? A clean, clear product page on T-Mobile.com, which tied in seamlessly with the app.
